We have Enough Proof against PFI, Says UP DGP
The Uttar Pradesh Police DGP, OP Singh asserted that UP Police has sufficient proof against the involvement of the Popular Front of India (PFI), in inciting riots during Anti-CAA protests. PFI on Wednesday denied all allegations against the organization terming it ‘fake and baseless’.
“Popular Front of India (PFI) was actively involved in this(recent violence), that is why we have arrested 25 of their members. We have ample proof against them,” UP DGP said.
The UP DGP had written to the Ministry of Home Affairs, seeking a ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) for inciting violence in the state during anti-CAA protests. He was supported by Deputy CM of UP, Keshav Prasad Maurya as the minister alleged PFI was behind damage to property, arson, and anarchy in the state during Anti-CAA protests, and assured that PFI will be banned.
UP Police has alleged several members of PFI have been associated with the banned Islamic group Student Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), in the past. Uttar Pradesh police had arrested 25 PFI members for their involvement in violent protests against CAA. According to UP Police, PFI members were active in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Shamli, Bijnor, Gonda, Barabanki, Bahraich, Varanasi, Azamgarh, and Sitapur areas, during the protests against the new legislation.0 Replies to “We have Enough Proof against PFI, Says UP DGP”
