UP Government Implements Police Commissioner System in Lucknow and Noida
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the proposal of implementing the Police Commissioner System in Lucknow and Gautam Buddh Nagar. The proposal was approved in a meeting presided by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, held at Lok Bhavan, Lucknow. Two women officers of SP and ASP ranks have also been appointed to prevent crimes against women in these two districts. This announcement was made public by the UP CM in a press conference.
“The biggest step towards police reform has been taken by our Government today. Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the proposal to set up police commissioner system in Lucknow and Noida,” UP CM Yogi Adityanath said in the press conference.
“Two women officers of Superintendent of Police (SP) & Additional Superintendent Police (ASP) ranks each are being deployed to curb crimes against women in the new police commissionerates,” CM Yogi further added.
UP Chief Minister also asserted that this decision has been taken to improve the law and order in the state. SN Sabat is the frontrunner to become the first Police Commissioner of Lucknow.
