The BJP MP from Bhopal Sadhvi Pragya Thakur apologized for her remarks on Friday in Lok Sabha. She said that she respects Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution to the nation, and apologizes if she has hurt any sentiments. The BJP MP also asserted that her statement was distorted by the opposition, and lashed out at Rahul Gandhi for calling her a terrorist, after she was acquitted by the court.
“My statements made in Parliament are being distorted. I respect Mahatma Gandhi’s contribution to the nation. I apologize, if I have hurt any sentiments,” Pragya Thakur said in the Lok Sabha.
“A member of the House referred to me as ‘terrorist’. It is an attack on my dignity. No charges against me have been proven in court,” she further added.
After Bhopal MP’s statement in the lower house of the Parliament, the opposition leaders raised slogans of ‘Mahatma Gandhi ki Jai and down, down Godse.”
