Maha Vikas Aghadi Unveils Common Minimum Program before Oath Ceremony
Maha Vikas Aghadi or the NCP-Shiv Sena-Congress unveiled its Common Minimum Program (CMP), in a press conference hours before Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray will be sworn-in as Maharashtra CM. The CMP focuses on issues related to farmers’, health, unemployment, industry, social justice, education, women, urban development, tourism, and art & culture.
The CMP also includes formation of law ensuring 80 percent reservation for locals in the existing & new companies. It also promises to uphold the secular values of India.
The Preamble of the CMP reads,” The alliance partners commit to uphold the secular values enshrined in the Constitution. On the contentious issue of national importance as well as of state importance, especially having repercussions/consequences on the secular fabric of the nation, the Shiv Sena, the NCP, and the Congress will take a joint view after holding consultations and arriving at a consensus.”
Uddhave Thackeray will be sworn in as the 18th Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Thursday evening. NCP’s Jayant Patil, Chhagan Bhujbal, and Congress leaders Balasaheb Thorat, and Nitin Raut will take oath as cabinet ministers today at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
