A Soldier of the Indian Army Rahul Bhairu Sulagekar was martyred in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan at the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday. The news was confirmed by the Defence PRO Jammu. He was a resident of Uchagaon village in Belgavi, Karnataka. The violation took place in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. Indian Army has retaliated with full force to the unprovoked firing and shelling from across the border.

The Pakistani Rangers had earlier violated the ceasefire in the same section around 2:30 AM on Friday.

According to Government records, Pakistan has violated ceasefire over 2,000 times in 2019 itself. The Government of India has repeatedly asked its counterpart in Pakistan to adhere to the 2003 ceasefire agreement and maintain peace along the LoC and the international border.
