Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Resigns after Ajit Pawar Backs Off.
After Ajit Pawar’s U-turn, Devendra Fadnavis resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra on Tuesday. He announced his resignation in a press conference and submitted it to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, hours after Supreme Court ordered him to prove the majority in the Assembly.
In the press conference former Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis lashed out at Shiv Sena and its pre-poll alliance.
“In elections, the clear majority was given to Mahayuti and BJP got maximum 105 seats. We contested with Shiv Sena, but this mandate was for BJP because BJP won 70 percent seats out of all seats we contested,” Fadnavis said.
“We waited for them (Shiv Sena) for a long time but they didn’t respond and instead talked to Congress-NCP. People who never stepped outside Matoshree (Thackeray residence) to meet anyone were going door to door to make a government with NCP and Congress,” former Maharashtra CM further added.
Fadnavis stated that the alliance of NCP, Shiv Sena, and Congress will be very unstable. He called out Uddhav Thackeray led the party for being power-hungry and compromising with their ideology.
Earlier on Tuesday, Supreme Court ordered Floor Test to be conducted in Maharashtra Assembly on November 27. The voting will be carried out via an open secret ballot and will be telecasted live. The Apex court has also ordered that Pro-tem Speaker be appointed before 5 pm November 27, to conduct the Floor Test.0 Replies to “Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis Resigns after Ajit Pawar Backs Off.”
