Delhi Police Arrests JNU Student Sharjeel Imam from Bihar


Sharjeel Imam, a research scholar at JNU, and one of the organizers of Shaheen Bagh protest was arrested by Delhi Police from Jahanabad, Bihar on Tuesday. He was accused of sedition after inflammatory speeches at Jamia Milia Islamia University and AMU over CAA.

Several cases have been registered against him in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh for calling out people to block railway and road connectivity of entire India with the Northeastern states. Chicken’s Neck or the Siliguri corridor is a 22 km stretch in West Bengal that connects the rest of India with its northeastern states.
