BJP Lashes Out At Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for His Infiltrator Jab
BJP launched an all-out attack on Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for his ‘infiltrators’ remarks on PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Chowdhury’s comment caused an uproar in the parliament, with BJP leaders demanding an unconditional apology from the Congress leader.
“I can say that Narendra Modi and Amit Shah Ji are themselves the infiltrators. Their homes are in Gujarat but they have come to Delhi,” Mr. Chowdhury, told news agency ANI on Sunday.
“India is for everyone-for Hindus, for Muslims and everyone else. They are creating the fear that they will throw out Muslims. They cannot do that. But what they want to show is Hindus will be allowed to stay, while Muslims will be sent away,” the Leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha further added.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra took a swipe at Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi’s Italian origin after Chowdhury’s remarks. He tweeted,” Gujratis are infiltrators in India? And Italian?
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi asked for an unconditional apology from the Congress MP from West Bengal and termed his remarks as an insult for people who elected PM Narendra Modi back to power.
“I condemn his (Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury) statement. President of Congress party ghuspethia hai. If Congress has any sense he should apologize. Otherwise, I will demand that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi apologize on his behalf,” Pralhad Joshi said.
Congress leaders’ controversial statement came at a time when Union Home Minister Amit Shah is discussing the Citizen Amendment Bill with the political parties and civil society from the Northeastern region. Mr. Shah will meet the stakeholders on Tuesday for the third time, after having met them on Friday and Saturday.0 Replies to “BJP Lashes Out At Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury for His Infiltrator Jab”
